Tied into a life of adventure.

Bachelor Weekend in the Sierra

Jeremy, Ryan and I are headed up to the Sierra in a few hours to celebrate Jeremy’s last weekend on earth as a single man.  Next week, Jeremy and his fiance will combine names to become, Foschissle.  Well, not really, but it’s a funny combination of Foster and Schissel.

The plan is to drive to the hot springs near Mammoth, wake up and boulder, and then go in to climb Bear Creek Spire.  The trailhead is Rock Creek and we intend to climb the NE Ridge.  Some other cool peaks are in the area where we’ll set up base camp, so we hope to get on top of those as well.  I’m bringing my ice tools in case there’s some great alpine ice in the couloirs!

I hope to have a ton of great photos at the end of the weekend.  I’ll be carrying a 16-105mm WAL and my 70-300mm on the D100.  I’d like to get some great ridge shots and even a few landscapes if possible.  We’ll see how it goes…

Until then, the parting shot is from my trip up Conness with the same crew a few weeks back.  We had two things on the mind: climbing and Giants baseball.  The picture sums it up perfectly.
